Oprah Winfrey is the most powerful celebrity in the world, according to Forbes magazine. She tops Forbes' annual list of "The Celebrity 100", a ranking based on both earnings and fame, which was released on Wednesday, June 11.
Oprah remains No. 1 on the Celebrity 100, earning $275 million before taxes in the past 12 months. She also remains one of the most famous faces in the world. She was followed by athlete Tiger Woods at number 2, who earns $115 million.
Pregnant actress Angelina Jolie, who earned a reported $14 million, is ranked at number 3, while her boyfriend, Brad Pitt, who last year banked $20 million, is at number 10. Following Angelina are famous singer Beyonce Knowles, football star David Beckham, actor Johnny Depp, Beyonce's hubby Jay-Z, The Police, and "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling.
Teen sensation Miley Cyrus leads a slew of young stars to the annual list, ranking at number 35. Furthermore, from the under-18 crowd are Daniel Radcliffe, Zac Efron and Ashley Tisdale.
"The Celebrity 100" is Forbes' list of the world's most powerful and best-paid celebrities. In making the list, the magazine estimates celebrity earnings, then factors in media metrics including Google hits and press mentions.
