Joel Madden and Nicole Richie have previously been hit with marriage rumors, which claimed that the couple would hold a 2 million-dollar wedding ceremony at the Bel-Air estate of Nicole's father, Lionel Richie. However, all the rumors are not even close to truth as Joel has just denied them.
Joel wrote a message to fans and friends on his band Good Charlotte's official site, insisting that the wedding rumors are not true. On the message, which was posted on Saturday, June 14, Joel wrote "I've been getting calls and texts from my family all week asking me why they weren't invited to my wedding. I guess the only answer I could give them was that I didn't know we were having one." He then added, "I just found out that star magazine (U.S. publication) wrote some story about a 2 MILLION dollar wedding we are supposed to be having, and that's (sic) where it came from."
Moreover, on the , Joel revealed to his fans and friends about Star magazine, which broke the wedding news, saying "Sooooo if you were pissed at me for not inviting you or even telling you, don't blame me, theres (sic) nothing to worry about. Its just star magazine." He continued adding, "How long do you think it will be before they write we called it off, or we broke up? i give them a week or two..."
Star Magazine made the false reports about Nicole and Joel's wedding plan early this month, claiming that they were about to tie the knot in June 29. A source revealed to the magazine that the "Simple Life" star would have nine bridesmaids, and planned Pretty in Pink themed bridal shower.
