Happy news comes from Jamie Lynn Spears and her fiance, Casey Aldridge that they finally become parents. The couple welcomed their baby girl on Thursday morning, June 19 at 9:33 A.M. at Mississippi Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb, Miss., near the Spears' home base of Kentwood.
The adorable baby was named Maddie Briann Aldridge, weighed in 7 lbs, 11 oz, OK! magazine exclusively confirmed. "Both mom and baby are healthy and happy," Jamie Lynn's representative told the magazine, which reportedly paid for exclusive rights to the baby's first pictures. The rep then added, "They are surrounded by their close relatives, including Jamie Lynn's older sister Britney, mother Lynne, father Jamie and brother Bryan."
Sister Britney Spears, along with her father Jamie and brother Bryan, flew into Kentwood on Wednesday, June 18 to be with the former "Zoey 101" star for the birth. Meanwhile, her mother Lynne had accompanied her helping her to prepare for the baby, before Britney, father, and Bryan came.
Jamie Lynn announced she was expecting her first child in December. "I can't say it was something I was planning to do right now," she confessed to OK! mag. She then added, "But now that it's in my lap and that it's something I have to deal with, I'm looking forward to being the best mom I can be."
Jamie Lynn and Casey have recently purchased a new home on a five-acre lot in nearby Liberty. The new parents have been busy putting the finishing touches on the pink, brown and metallic-green nursery for their baby girl.
Furthermore, Jamie Lynn revealed to the magazine that she wanted to devote all her time and attention to Maddie, thus a wedding and her career can wait. "Right now, I am so focused on the baby. You never know what may happen a year from now. There is the possibility I'll go back, but right now, I just want to be a good mom."
