It is such a pride for newly mom Jamie Lynn Spears that she has a sweet baby girl, Maddie Briann Aldridge. She is so excited, thus couldn't resist to post the very first photo of the beautiful Maddie on her MySpace.
Along with the picture of Maddie, Jamie Lynn left a message on her MySpace. She proudly expressed her joy to fans and friends, writing "I can't say it was something I was planning to do right now, But now that it's in my lap and that it's something I have to deal with, I'm looking forward to being the best mom I can be."
Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn apparently has some reasons why she named her daughter Maddie Briann. Baby name expert Pam Satran reckoned that the actress and hubby Casey Aldridge's choice for the baby's name is "surprising". "(Maddie is) cute but nearly old-fashioned at this point. The nickname Maddie has been popular in its own right since the 1980s, when it was the name used by the character played by Cybill Shepherd in Moonlighting," Satran revealed.
Further, Satran explained that the name is short for Madeline, which means "high tower", or Madison of English origin, meaning "son of the mighty warrior", which was a great name several years ago. "Both Jamie and Maddie are '80s-style nickname names. Rather than mother and daughter, they sound like classmates-co-captains of the cheerleading squad!," he added. As for Maddie's middle name, Briann, according to Satran, it is "a modern feminization of Brian", which means "strong".

Update 07/02: The link to Jamie Lynn's MySpace has been taken down, fueling speculation that the pictures of the baby are only Internet hoax, especially with reports telling that the first pics of the baby has been given exclusively to OK! magazine. Meanwhile, no rep from the actress has made any comment regarding this matter.
