News of Ellen and Portia's wedding place was first reported by New York Post, which quoted a source as saying, "They didn't sign the contract yet, but they're working out final details and security." Further, rumors began to swirl that the couple will get married in October after the resort is renovated.
"The hotel is doing $70 million in renovations that will be done in October. They said they wanted to have the ceremony in the tropical gardens by the pool and the reception in the grand ballroom. They will also close a significant portion of the hotel, so it looks big," the source explained. Meanwhile, Portia will be taking the name DeGeneres after tying the knot with Ellen.
Ellen, who has been dating Portia since 2004, has given her a $60,000 three-carat pink diamond ring to celebrate the forthcoming nuptials. The actress has reportedly been flashing the rock to her friends and family.
