Lily Allen apparently brings happy news to all her fans, confirming that she has completed her second studio album. The singer also revealed that she is just awaiting her record company's response to the record.
Lily told BBC's Newsbeat program on Monday, June 30, "I'm pretty much sure it's finished and I've got a meeting on Tuesday with the label, I'm really happy." The singer then added that she's not scared of her label, saying "As much as I love them they're just people who give you a loan. I'm not scared of my label."
Lily also revealed to the news media that she has been working with Klaxons singer Jamie Reynolds on a new song. They took time out to go into the studio together a couple of weeks ago. "We had our session and enlightened each other. We did a cover of Joe Jackson's Steppin' Out," Lily stated. Jamie added, "And that wonderful song that we're yet to finish. It was just for a bit of enjoyment. I don't even know if it'll even exist yet. It's a big work in progress."
Meanwhile, rumors began to swirl that Lily is set to record a duet with her pal Lindsay Lohan. According to New! Magazine, the singer reportedly wants to team up with the "Mean Girls" actress and the proposed duet is entitled "Wherever We Go".
Lily and Lindsay became friends after spending time together with the actress' rumored girlfriend Samantha Ronson, while working on the singer's second studio album in Los Angeles. Lily, who knows Samantha after working with her producer brother Mark Ronson, revealed "I came back to the hotel about seven and went straight to dinner with my number one fan. We went to this place called Il Sole, the food was amazing. I love truffles big time and they didn't disappoint." The singer then added, "Samantha brought along a rather famous friend - and about 50 million paparazzi."
