Shocking news comes from singer and actress Mandy Moore and her rocker boyfriend, Ryan Adams, that they have split up. It was the rocker's rep who broke the news, confirming exclusively to OK! magazine that the pair are no longer a couple.
Meanwhile, Ryan revealed to the publication that Mandy "is one of those genuinely sweet angelic people you wish to meet your whole life." The rocker then added, "I am grateful for our friendship and how it allowed us both to grow and learn more." He also blamed the media spotlight for the break-up, stating that he is "allergic" to the cameras.
"Unfortunately I am allergic to paparazzi and have found the best antidote to that sort of nonsense is staying behind the guitar and typewriter, staying close to my support group of friends and band mates and not engaging in activities that prevent me from taking care of myself or others," Ryan said in a statement. He, moreover, admitted that he wanted a normal life, saying "I found the entire speculation and subsequent photographs and intrusions terrifying and only wish to live as normal a life as possible, so that I might always remain punk as f*** AND sober. Also, I just want to jam. Plus I like metal A LOT."
Mandy and Ryan started to date in December 2007, but news of their romance didn't surface until March 2008. They finally made their first public outing in May.
