After being continually hit with sorts of rumors about her marriage to director husband Guy Ritchie, Madonna has finally spoken out about the speculation, on her own accord. She has shut down the persisting rumors, denying that she is divorcing Guy or having an affair with Yankee star Alex Rodriguez.
Madonna told People exclusively, "My husband and I are not planning on getting a divorce." The pop diva then insisted that she is not romantically linked to Alex and has nothing to do with the break-up of his marriage. "I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study," the singer explained.
Earlier this month, Madonna's spokeswoman Liz Rosenberg has also released an exclusive statement to People, claiming that divorce rumors about the singer and Guy were not true. "Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last ditch attempt to save his marriage which does not need saving). There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce," Liz stated.
Meanwhile, concerning the relationship between Madonna and Alex, the baseball star's wife Cynthia blamed the rumored affair for the demise of her five-year marriage to him. As for the singer, she commented "I have learned over the years not to take accusations and the many false reports about me very seriously. I also appreciate how fiction and fact seem to be perceived as one and the same by people who read both newspapers and the Internet."
In other Madonna news, she and Guy, as well as their three children Lourdes, Rocco, and David, were seen attending prayer services at the Kabbalah Centre in New York City on Saturday, July 5.
