Previous published reports claimed that Britney Spears is set to join famous fellow celeb Madonna in live stage performance on the pop queen's Sticky and Sweet tour. However, producers of Madonna's upcoming world tour have blasted the reports, claiming that the "Toxic" singer will join her on the tour but only through a taped video performance.
Madonna had reportedly asked Britney to appear in person for some of her tour dates and star in a video that will be the backdrop for part of her show. They are said to have met in New York on Sunday, July 6 to record a video, which will be broadcast on big screens during the upcoming tour. The 49-year-old star did that in an attempt to help Britney resurrect her singing career.
Britney's manager, Larry Rudolph, told Access Hollywood, "Britney's doing a video piece this week for Madonna's new tour." Further, Madonna's rep Liz Rosenberg confirmed to the news media that the "Baby One More Time" singer is scheduled to be filmed for Madonna's tour at some point this week. While Liz added what exactly the video will be is a "secret", a source in the Britney's camp told E! Online that the set features an elevator, in, around and on which the singer will dance.
"The video will be very deep. You've never seen Britney like this before. It will blow your mind," the source revealed. Meanwhile, concerning Britney's appearance on the tour, Liz claimed "I do not believe that Britney will be appearing live on the tour."
Madonna's "Sticky & Sweet" tour with Britney on video for some of the tour dates, will kick off October 4 in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The tour is due to kick off on August 23 in Wales.
