Actor Ethan Hawke and his pregnant fiancee, former nanny Ryan Shawhughes, are officially husband and wife. A source close to the actor confirmed to People magazine that the couple, who obtained a marriage license in June, tied the knot three weeks ago.
News about Ethan and Ryan's wedding plan emerged early las month, after the couple were spotted applying for a marriage license. The newly weds were seen at the Municipal Building on Centre Street on May 3 to obtained for the license. "They looked really sweet," an onlooker told Page Six. Additionally, the marriage news comes about two weeks after the actors' ex wife Uma Thurman announced her engagement to multimillionaire Arpad Busson on June 26 at Elton John's 10th White tie and Tiara benefit.
Ethan has been dating Ryan, who used to work as a nanny for his children with Uma, for more than two years. Their romance began after the actor and the actress divorced. A source told New York Daily News that Ryan confessed her feelings to Ethan a year after the divorce. Last December, a friend of the actor reportedly told the news media, "They are incredibly in love." In January, his publicist, Mara Buxbaum, confirmed that the couple were expecting their first child.
