Joyful news comes from Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt that they have welcomed their twin babies , one girl and one boy. It has been confirmed the actress gave birth to the babies by Caesarean section at around 8 P.M. on Saturday night, July 12 at the Fondation Lenval hospital in Nice, France.
Dr. Michel Sussmann, who helped Angelina delivered the babies, told The Associated Press that the actress, the twins and Brad are doing well. The baby boy, named Knox Leon, weighed just over 5 pounds and the girl, Vivienne Marcheline, weighed 5 pounds. "Everything is going well. The mother, the babies, the father are doing marvelously well," he said.
According to Michel, the Caesarean was moved forward from its initially scheduled date "for medical reasons" so that the twin babies could be born "in the best conditions." For now, Angelina, Brad and newborn babies are resting out of the public eye on the fifth floor of the Lenval hospital, behind blue mirrored windows that were expected to deflect the paparazzi's lenses.
As for Brad, he was at Angelina's side during the delivery, looking on the doctor performed a Caesarean section. "He was my assistant. He was very happy. The emotion was very strong for him," Michel told reporters on the hospital steps. He added, "I felt the emotion of both the mother and the father. Angelina Jolie was speaking, was laughing with her husband. They were happy." The twins are the fifth and sixth children for the famous Hollywood couple, who are already parents to Maddox, Pax, Zahara, and Shiloh.
Baby Knox and Vivienne, who were born one minute apart, are the ultimate million-dollar babies, with experts estimating their first photos will reach a fortune. Nice Matin, the hometown daily in the Riviera city in the south of France, estimated twins' first photos are worth at more than $11 million. The publication first broke news of the birth and reported on Sunday, July 13 that Angelina and Brad have sold the rights for the exclusive photo of the twins to a U.S. Magazine and that the proceeds would go to charity. There are speculation that the first photos could reach 10 million pounds or $20 million, which would make it the biggest baby deal ever.
