R&B singer and actor Usher apparently is keen on taking part for the success of U.S. presidential campaign. The singer is even set to succeed his preferred candidate Barack Obama's campaign, performing at the Democratic Convention in August.
Usher's manager Benny Medina revealed that the singer has been approached to sing at the event in Denver, Colorado. "There've been offers to do things in and around the convention and we are just looking to see which one will be the most productive. He is obviously a huge Barack supporter," Benny told New York Daily News.
Usher is currently busy doing concerts to promote his latest LP "Here I Stand," which was released on May 26 in the U.K. and May 27th in the U.S. His latest performance was at the "This Day Music and Fashion Festival 2008" on Saturday, July 12 in Nigeria.
In other Usher news, he recently said he wanted to be a good role model for his baby son. The singer, who has a nine-month-old boy, Usher Raymond, with wife Tameka, said "Now I represent what he is to become. He's going to admire me, he's going to look up to me. He's going to say, 'I want to be' - or he should say - 'I want to be like my father. I want be a man of valor. I want
to possess what my father has as a man'."
