Rihanna has been selected as the celebrity endorser of Gucci's first ever ad campaign in collaboration with UNICEF. The singer will be appearing in the company's Tattoo Heart campaign, which will begin in December. According to reports, twenty-five percent of sales will be donated to the nonprofit organization.
Gucci's creative director Frida Gianninni said, "When we decided to dedicate a full ad campaign, more than just creating products, to really come out and show our commitment to UNICEF, I felt a musician and a beautiful woman was the perfect icon for this campaign." The ads will feature Rihanna wearing Gucci's special-edition products, incorporating a tattoo-style heart which is specially designed for UNICEF.
As for Rihanna, she revealed she was very proud of being the spokeswoman of Gucci for charitable work. "We've come a long way from Miss Bisou to Gucci. It's an honor to represent Gucci," she stated.
Apart from the ad campaign, Rihanna also talked about adding clothing design to her repertoire, saying "I love fashion, so it's only natural for me to want to create my own line." In May, the "Umbrella" hitmaker revealed she would be launching her own fashion line in the near future. "I love fashion so much. I'm a very creative person, so I can see that happening very soon," she said.
