Britney Spears makes musical comeback at 2008 MTV Video Music Awards as one of Best Female Video Music nominees.
Britney Spears is nominated for Best Female Music Video category at 2008 MTV Music Video Awards. According to a source, the announcement has been aired live on Friday's FNMTV (July 25).
The singer, who has settled custodial agreement of her toddlers with ex-husband,
Kevin Federline, puts single "Pieces of Me" from her latest album "Blackout" at the nominee list. She will compete against other singers, such as
Katy Perry for "I Kissed a Girl,"
Rihanna for "Take a Bow,"
Mariah Carey for "Touch My Body" and
Jordin Sparks for "No Air."
Furthermore, Best Male Music Video will also be a steep competition as some Hollywood established guys, such as
T.I. for "What You Know,"
Usher for "Love in the Club,"
Lil Wayne for "Lollipop,"
Chris Brown for "With You" and Flo-Rida for "Low" will hang in there. In a press release, T.I. calls his nomination as an honor pleasure. Meanwhile, when asked for a comment related to Britney's nomination, T.I. said in a short statement, "Stiff competition. May the best hot chick win!"
