Heath Ledger who passed away in January 2008, failed to set up a restaurant-bar in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. His dedication made his father, Kim, to continue materializing it. Kim agreed continuing his son's project and took over his estate. "Kim has been very supportive," Ledger's business partner, Jud Mongell said. "He has been to the space, and he is happy that the project Heath talked about so much is being finished."
According to Mongell, the "Brokeback Mountain" actor has chosen to open a bar and restaurant on a street corner across McCarren Park. The plan crossed Ledger's mind when he and Mongell were playing skateboards. Mongell said, "I showed him other spots and he wouldn't look at anything else. He liked this corner, he envisioned basically just hanging out at the park across the street. He was a big fan of Williamsburg."
Mongell added that Ledger is very careful with his restaurant's plan, he has drawn the first floor, handpicked designers and artist, and also chosen it's possible names, like BrightSide and Five Leaves.
Ledger who played Joker in "The Dark Knight" was found breathless in Manhattan due to overdose sleeping pills. He left his daughter, Matilda Rose with Michelle Williams. Many of Heath's friends showed their blessing including his Australian friends who flew to New York City to see "Dark Night" premiere last week. Mongell said "Kim is happy that we all have a hub".
