Shia LaBeouf Arrested Because of Driving Under Influence

The 'Transformers' actor has been arrested late at night because of drunk driving.

"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" actor, Shia LaBeouf, reportedly has been arrested for driving under influence of alcohol in early morning hours of July 27. According to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Wolf, LaBeouf made a left turn at a Hollywood intersection around 3 A.M., which made his Ford F150 colliding with another vehicle, rolling the truck. The-22-years-old actor and his female friend who sat beside him are injured in that accident so did the driver in the other vehicle.

"It was immediately apparent to officers responding on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated and he was subsequently placed under arrest," Wolf said. LaBeouf was charged by misdemeanor DUI and released thereafter. The Transformers actor has been treated in Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for injuries in his left hand, a knee and a minor head injury. "Shia is currently recovering from extensive hand surgery with plans to return to work on the set of Transformers 2 within one month. No further comment will be issued at this time," according to a press release.

The other two victims, the women, reportedly only have minor injuries.

Before that accident, LaBeouf has once been arrested in November 2007 for criminal trespassing in Chicago drugstore, the charge was dropped in late 2007.
