Diva Amy Winehouse was rushed to emergency room of University College Hospital in London on Monday (July 28). According to a source the singer is suffering from adverse reaction to medication which is prescribed to help her stop taking drugs.
Her spokesperson, Chris Goodman, confirmed that Amy is indeed kept under doctor's investigation overnight and if she has a comfortable night, she will be released the following morning. He said, "Amy Winehouse suffered a reaction to medication at home this evening and was taken to hospital. Doctors have advised that she will be kept under observation overnight and is likely to be released tomorrow."
According to a source, the 24-year-old singer was taken by police from her London apartment in a wheelchair, looking terribly unwell. A London Ambulance Service's rep said, "She was taken unwell after an emergency call was received. There is no further comment to make on her health status. All I can tell you is that the patient is now in hospital being treated."
In June 2008, it was confirmed that Amy has developed early signs of emphysema, a chronic disease which is caused by exposure to toxic chemicals or long-term exposure to tobacco smoke. Amy's father reported that her daughter has irregular heartbeat and said her conditions were brought on by her habit of smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine.
As previously reported, Amy's husband Blake Fielder-Civil was sentenced to 27 months in jail after convicted with assault of justice. This condition has reportedly made her stressed out and furthermore made her condition worse.
