Stacy Ferguson Happy to Play a Prostitute in Movie Musical 'Nine'

Stacy Ferguson a.k.a Fergie says she's thrilled to get to play a prostitute in movie musical 'Nine'.

Black Eyed Peas' hottie Stacy Ferguson has become the latest celeb who joins Hollywood outstanding actress Nicole Kidman in the cast of movie musical "Nine". The singer-actress has even revealed that she's "thrilled" to get to explore her sexuality in the movie version of the Broadway musical, playing a prostitute.

Feeling excited, Stacy a.k.a Fergie told Associated Press about her role, "She's basically a prostitute on the beach. She introduces him to the world of sexuality. It's a very strong song. I'm just thrilled I get to play a character." The actress revealed that one of the reasons why she's absolutely happy playing in the movie is because she doesn't sing as herself, but as a character. "I'm singing, but I'm not singing as myself. I'm going to be singing as a character, and that's what's really exciting to me," she added.

And when it comes to her opportunity to work with the film's A-list talent, the Grammy winner said, "I'm speechless. I'm definitely going to be a sponge on set. I want to pick up on everything that all these brilliant actors are bringing to the table. I'm probably going to be the quietest that I've ever been while working just because I want to watch and learn."

Stacy's co stars in the movie directed by Rob Marshall include Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, and this year's Academy Award winner for Best Actress, Marion Cotillard. The film will begin production this fall and will be released in December 2009.

In other Stacy news, she is currently working a new album with the Black Eyed Peas. "It's a new sound. We're not doing the same old thing. We're not trying to copy what's out there on the radio. We're being artistic and pushing the envelope," she said.
