Justin Timberlake's recent hosting activities especially the latest one at the 2008 ESPY awards was considered a successful one by many including the bosses of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Smithed by the singer's appearance as an MC, the Academy members are planning to tap him as the host for the 2009 Academy Awards.
The news surfaced after a source from the Academy members told the National Enquirer saying, "They think Justin can reel in young viewers and make the show much more exciting." Moreover the source also added, "Justin's more than a singer-he's a song-and-dance man...Justin does it all and he knows how to work a star-studded audience. Our first question was, Can we get him?"
The decision hasn't been finalized yet, but according to reports Justin is very interested with the offer. However, should the pop singer decided otherwise, the Academy reportedly have already prepared other candidate which is Tina Fey.
Prior to the conclusion whether he will be the host for the 2009 Academy Awards or not, the singer still has a chance to prove his worth as an MC as he has been taped to host some events this year. One of the latest shows that the singer will be hosting is a charity concert to benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children on October 17 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
