The Associated Press broke the news that exclusive photos of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's newborn twin babies Knox Leon and Vivianne Marcheline have been sold to two magazines, People and Hello!. In previous reports, it was said that the winning bid is between $10 million and $15 million, now it is confirmed that the pictures are sold for $14 million.
A person involved in the negotiations revealed to The Associated Press that Angelina and Brad gave joint rights to People and the London-based British tabloid, which has the worldwide rights, to publish the most expensive celebrity pictures ever sold. According to Forbes, the money which the couple get is more than double the $6 million People paid for Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony's twins on a March cover. The cash will go to a foundation created by Angelina and Brad's foundation which focused on helping children around the world.
Concerning the exclusive rights to publish little Knox and Vivianne's photos, managing editor Larry Hackett said in a statement, "We're thrilled to be able to feature these pictures in People." Further, People and Hello! will feature the famous twin babies in an issue to hit newsstands on Monday, August 4, spokeswoman Nancy Valentino said on Friday, August 1. The worldwide mag will also unveil the first photos online on Sunday evening, August 3.
