"Pride and Prejudice" star Keira Knightley had brilliant strategy to win the lead role in a new film version of "My Fair Lady". She won the role as Eliza Doolittle with help of a few gulps of alcoholic drink.
The 23-years-old actress confessed that she was drunk to overcome her nerves in front of theater impresario and co-producer Cameron Mackintosh. "It was in front of Cameron himself, so the only option was to get drunk," she said to the September issue of Glamour magazine. "I probably did slur my words - I can't remember."
"My Fair Lady" is a musical film produced by Colombia Pictures. A source says that Keira has planned to sing all the classic songs by herself. On that movie she will play with Daniel Day-Lewis.
Keira is famous for playing "Bend It Like Beckham" and trilogy of "Pirates of the Caribbean". In 2007, she portrayed Cecilia Tallis in "Atonement" and was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Drama at 2008 Golden Globes Awards.
