The Pussycat Dolls Get Polite on 2008 MTV Asia Awards

After causing a trouble on their last performance in Malaysia which gave them a fine for performing to sultry and sexy, The Pussycat Dolls are back to the Muslim country with a tamer attitude. The Dolls' who were performing at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards, held on August 2, tone down and cover up their usual raunchy stage act to avoid anymore incident.
At the event, the girls group wore a much more "polite" costumes and didn't do to many sexy dances but even so they still manage to wow the crowd. The Dolls performed two songs at the show, which were their hit track "Buttons" and their new single "When I Grow Up".
Commenting about their performance at the award show, the Dolls' Jessica Sutta told MTVAsia, "We are better prepared this time to perform in Malaysia and we have deep respect for the culture. It is about the music, not about sexy. We are going to respect the people of this country and the culture."
Previously, in August 2006 the Dolls who played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of their world tour received a fine worth $1358 by the local government because their performance was considered inappropriate an against the country's law. "I believe the way the Pussycat Dolls behaved onstage amounted to gross indecency," said the country's Culture Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Mohamad Arif Abdul Rahman at the time.
In other news, The Dolls themselves are currently busy preparing the release of their new LP Doll Domination, which is scheduled to hit the stores on September 16. Promoting the upcoming record the group have already dropped their first single "When I Grow Up" on July 10.
