The English alternative rockers reportedly suffered a huge lose of fortune after their fans opted to downloaded latest record "In Rainbows" illegally rather than officially purchase it.
Despite already giving a special price for their album by letting their fans to purchase it as much as they,
Radiohead still faces a huge profit loss from the record's sale. This fact happens after their devotees opted to download their album illegally rather than taking it from the band's official website.
According to data collected by Performing Rights Society, until this date the numbers of the album that was downloaded illegally have surpassed the numbers of the record sold from Radiohead's official website. Moreover, reports claim in less than four weeks after the LP was released, it has been illegally downloaded for about 2.3 million times. Meanwhile, the band themselves refuse to reveal the exact amount of "In Rainbows" sale via their website.
The group dropped the record "In Rainbows" for download on October 10, 2007 before releasing it on CD formats on January 2008 in North America. Promoting the new record, until this date the band have already released three singles, which are "Jigsaw Falling Into Pieces", "Nude" and "House of Cards".
Meanwhile, at the moment the alternative rock act themselves are still busy with their tour to further promote the LP. The latest gig that the band have just staged is performing at the Lollapalooza festival on Friday, August 1.
