Model and two-time Olympic gold medalist Amanda Beard seems to be proud of being nude for nothing but a good cause. She has joined fellow celebrities Alicia Silverstone and Eva Mendes, who have bared it all for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in its campaigns focusing on animal abuse.
Having a hectic schedule couldn't resist Amanda to take her time to bare her skin to help save animals' skins. With the tag line "Be Comfortable in Your Own Skin. Don't Wear Fur," the model, who appeared in Playboy magazine in 2007, strips off to help raise awareness of fur industry's cruelty.
"I have seen a lot of the videos, and [it] brings me to tears. What [some people] think is pretty is actually something that's very gruesome and gross," Amanda said in a statement released by PETA. The beauty went on, "[T]o see animals..... slaughtered to be worn as fashion is awful to me, so I'm definitely against wearing fur."
Further, when was asked whether she has any regrets about posing nude, Amanda stated that she is even proud of that. "No. I'd much rather go naked than ever put a dead animal on my body," she said. The proud swimmer is set to unveil the campaign on Wednesday, August 6, just days before the kickoff of the Olympic Games in Beijing.
