Brad Pitt Officially One of the 'Inglorious Bastards'

After being rumored for Quentin Tarantino's "Inglorious Bastards", it has now been confirmed that Brad Pitt is one of the "Inglorious Bastards". The 44-year-old actor has officially been tapped to star in Tarantino's latest movie.

Pitt is described to be a "Tennessee hillbilly" in the movie about World War II. His character is the assembler as well as leader of the eight Jewish-American soldiers who are sent to a dangerous mission behind enemy lines. Much of the film's dialogue is reported to be in French or German. Though the "Troy" star will speak English in his role, subtitles will be used in the flick.

Pitt is among the first actors who signed the action drama's cast. He will join Eli Roth who is assigned to play Sgt. Donnie Donowitz in the movie. Actress Nastassja Kinski is also in early talks to portray one of the sole female roles.

"Inglorious Bastards" is focused on a group of U.S. soldier in World War II who are about to be executed. They are trying to avoid the punishment by doing a mission to help the Allies to fight Nazis. The movie is expected to be finished before its special screening at the 62nd Cannes Film Festival in 2009.
