Young actor Zac Efron has been known for her ability in acting, dancing and singing in Disney's "High School Musical". But he's apparently not interested to be a professional singer. The 20-year-old reportedly turned down music mogul Simon Cowell's offer to make him a singing sensation.
Zac, who will show his singing performance in upcoming movie "High School Musical 3: Senior Year", was said to be a perfect target for Simon. Reports claimed that the 48-year-old music mogul felt Zac had huge potential as a solo career. However, the actor reportedly rejected Simon's music offer because he wants to focus on his movie career.
"Simon told Zac, 'With my know-how and your voice, we can make millions.' He also offered to fly Zac to London for negotiations, but Zac turned him down, insisting he wants to concentrate on his movie career," a source told the National Enquirer magazine. He's said to have promised to contact the "American Idol" judge if he finally changes his mind. The source added to the magazine, "Zac told Simon if he ever changes his mind, he would be the first to know."
Moreover, his former "Summerland" co-star Jesse McCartney previously revealed his respect for Zac as he refused to make a solo album, insisting "We talked about it, obviously, and I think it was noble of him to turn it down. They were ready to offer him a number with six zeroes attached to the end of it, but he made the right decision." Jesse further added, "He knows he's not a singer - he's an actor. I'm excited for him to branch out and do older and more mature films. He really cares about his craft."
