Angelina Jolie Will Replace Tom Cruise in 'Edwin A. Salt'

Angelina Jolie will replace Tom Cruise in a new thriller movie "Edwin A. Salt". Rumor has it that Cruise dropped out of the film without specific reason. According to Variety, Jolie is getting close to make a deal for the movie. The actrees shows her interest to take part in it.

Due to the shifted gender for the main character, screenwriter Kurt Wimmer will have to change some of the script. There is still no record whether the title will be changed or Jolie will be a man in the movie.

Jolie seems to have impressed Colombia Pictures after she played amazingly in "Wanted (2008)" and "Mr and Mrs Smith". The actress is capable to act in action films which are usually dominated by men.

In "Edwin A. Salt", Jolie will play a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy. She struggles to prove that she is not a spy. The film is directed by Philip Noyce, and is produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Sunil Perkash.
