Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi Have Tied the Knot
The possible wedding of and has become the subject of intense media speculation ever since the California Supreme Court ruled in favor of same-sex marriages in May. And on Saturday, August 16 they finally made their union official in an intimate wedding ceremony held at their Beverly Hills home with only close friends and family attended.

A representative for the lesbian couple officially confirmed their wedding, telling People later that day, "Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi were married tonight in an intimate ceremony at their home in Los Angeles." While the representative offered no further details of the nuptials, US Weekly obtains some from a source.

As for Ellen, she reportedly was seen wearing white pants, a button-up shirt and a vest, whereas Portia wore a backless, light pink dress and her hair was pulled up loosely. They, according to People, traded rings by Neil Lane.

Ellen's mother Betty and Portia's mother Margaret Rogers, who flew in from Australia for the occasion, witnessed their daughters exchanged handwritten vows. No record on the other wedding guests, but it was claimed that there were about 20 people being invited.

Ellen and Portia, as stated by the eyewitness, "came out and posed for pictures with Ellen's mom and their two dogs". The pair "were hugging and kissing, and looked ecstatic. Ellen was helping Portia with the train of her dress, which looked like a Cinderella tutu."

The eyewitness went on claiming to see Ellen and Portia "were both laughing" and walking "all over the lawn together holding hands and posing. The whole afternoon seemed light-hearted." The newlyweds themselves have yet issued a word on their private nuptials.
