Jennifer Lopez apparently gets advantages from triathlon. The 39-year-old beauty is using the triathlon not only to get back into her shape, but also to give back. Jennifer reportedly will compete her first triathlon to raise funds for a children's hospital in Los Angeles.
The mom of twins Max and Emme will compete in the run with the editor-in-chief of SELF magazine, Lucy Danziger, on September 14 in Malibu, California. Jennifer was recently named by the magazine as one of the 10 most inspiring women of 2008. The "Do It Well" singer has also launched her personal blog on the magazine's site. "You have to start slow and give yourself time. I'm always challenging myself and seeing what I can do," she told Good Morning America this week.
The "Maid in Manhattan" star was reportedly inspired to do triathlon during the final stages of her pregnancy. "It came up when I was eight months pregnant, when I was beached like a whale," the wife of musician Marc Anthony said. "I was watching TV, and I saw a triathlon and I said, 'I think I could do that.'"
