Katy Perry exclusively reveals to Steppin' Out magazine that her hit 'I Kissed a Girl' is inspired by Scarlett Johansson after she opened up a magazine and saw picture of the blonde.

Scarlett Johansson. After previously revealing that she wanted to lock lips with the blonde beauty, the 23-year-old singer confessed that the actress inspired her writing the controversial song "I Kissed a Girl".
Katy exclusively admitted to Steppin' Out magazine, "'I Kissed a Girl' was inspired when I opened up a magazine and I saw a picture of Scarlett Johansson.'" And she surprisingly stated that she would prefer making out with Scarlet than her boyfriend. Even more shocking she said it in front of her boyfriend. "I was with my boyfriend at the time, and I said to him, 'I'm not going to lie: If Scarlett Johansson walked into the room and wanted to make out with me, I would make out with her. I hope you're okay with that?'" she admitted.
'I Kissed a Girl' has received criticism for its lyrics which promote homosexuality. The lyrics has been mocked by Katy's religious parents. Her mom, Mary Hudson, gushed "I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting. Katy knows how I feel. We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can't even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray."
Besides, a Christian website also gave negative opinion about the hit, saying "What a sad picture of a lost child swept away by carnal pleasures. We need to be lifting this gal up in prayer, her parents too, not to mention the young girls who will buy in to this lesbian chic message." However, the hit is gaining a lot success and currently sitting on the top charts worldwide.
