Previously announcing in June this year her plans to start a family would "happen eventually," Queen Latifah has been reported to make plans to adopt a child. According to National Enquirer, the 38-year-old singer-actress is feeling ready to become a mother of a child from her native country, U.S. She has spoken officially about adopting the child, but she would not confirm whether she is bringing about the plans.
Latifah said that she can understand why many people "go outside the U.S." to adopt a child. She continued, "You can adopt someone here, and the birth parents have three years to come back and get that child. That's terrifying." Nevertheless, she added, "(American children) can use just as much assistance as someone from around the world. I want to do something here."
Furthermore, the star recently has been rumored marrying her female personal trainer Jeanette Jenkins. Still, both lesbian lovers have not confirmed yet about the rumors. However, the National Enquirer reported that the couple "are hoping to have a little one by Christmas" this year.
In other news, Latifah recently was involved in a motorcycle accident. According to reports, the rapper was injured in the accident while touring the U.S. Virgin island of St. Thomas. The National Enquirer reported, "Luckily, she didn't break any bones. But she was suffering and was prescribed painkillers."
