Duff's father Bob Duff recently has been ordered to spend 10 days in jail for selling assets without court's approval. Her mother Susan Duff claimed that the singer was "emotionally upset by the abandonment of her father" and deserved "to have some kind of recognition for a young life well-lived." Neither Duff nor her older sister Haylie Duff came to the court.
