R'n'B singer Chante Moore said that Jennifer Lopez had allegedly stolen her song, claiming Jennifer's "If You Had My Love" was almost identical to her second single.
Jennifer Lopez is alleged to have stolen R'n'B singer Chante Moore's song. Jennifer's breakthrough track "If You Had My Love" was said to be Moore's second single, according to a recent interview with NPR.
The song was reportedly written by Rodney Jerkins (Brandy) and then later re-written for the wife of musician
Marc Anthony. "I wanted to sock him in the head," Moore said. She even revealed that her second song "If I Gave Love" was almost identical to Jennifer's hit "If You Had My Love". It allegedly made Moore's single being shelved.
"We should have been aggressive instead of backing off our single, we backed off of it because J.Lo had such a machine at the time," said the 41-year-old singer who recently released a new album "Love the Woman". "We should have just stepped out."
Moore further explained, "I heard that it was because Puff Daddy walked in and heard my song and said, 'I want that song.' (Rodney) was like, 'Yeah, it's already taken. We wrote that for Chante.' And (Puffy) was like, 'Yeah, mmm hmm, I want that song.' So Rodney wrote really the same song." She went on, "Hers, I can't even remember. It's so close I can't even sing it right now. Same song!"
