Selena Gomez Launches New PSA With Kermit the Frog to Help Amphibians
Disney sweetheart showed she also cares about another living creature. The 16-year-old girl has released a new Public Service Announcement (PSA) with Kermit the Frog to help amphibians. The message is aimed at calling attention to the plight of the world's amphibians.

In the announcement, Selena encourages people to protect the environment as well as the amphibians. "Unless we protect the environment, half the world's amphibians will become extinct," the "Wizard of Waverly Place" star said. "What happens to frogs today, can affect people in the future."

This year (2008) has been declared the Year of the Frog to mark a major conservation effort to address the amphibian crisis and to engage the public in conservation efforts. The PSA is a partnership between Disney, Amphibian Ark, Conservation International, and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). "We are honored to have the help of Kermit and Selena to spread the message of amphibian conservation," said AZA President and CEO Jim Maddy.
