Jessica Simpson Wants Ex-Hubby Nick Lachey Back for New TV Show

It is reported that she has approached him to star in the new TV show and her boyfriend Tony Romo has been very supportive of her doing the project with Nick.

Having her divorce to Nick Lachey being finalized in June 2006, Jessica Simpson wants him back for the sake of her TV career. The actress-singer reportedly has approached the hunk to star with her in a new television show.

Jess and Nick were stars of the MTV's reality show "Newlyweds" that became a hit in early 2000s. The former couple helped the reality series gained success before it ended in March 2005.

On the new TV show which Jess reportedly wants to star in with her former hubby, a source told the National Enquirer Wednesday, September 10 that it will be more or less "like Sonny and Cher, who continued their TV show after their divorce - and a field day for joke writers."

It, moreover, has also been claimed that Jess' current boyfriend Tony Romo has allowed her to do the show with Nick and is very supportive of the project. "Tony doesn't see Nick as a threat, and he'd love Jess to stay busy during football season," the source claimed.

Jess and Romo, who have been dating since last year, were last reported to have been planning to move in together in a new home in Irving, Texas. What's more they even were said to be planning to turn one of its rooms into a nursery for their future baby.

As for Nick, he's been dating MTV VJ Vanessa Minnillo since 2006.
