Playing naked in Broadway's play "Equus" doesn't only earn Daniel Radcliffe raves from fans but also it brings him more trouble as some naked photographs of him from the play have been leaked. The incident occurred after just two previews of his New York City Broadway's debut.
The pictures, which feature his nude figure on-stage, are taken by someone with cellular phone. The snapshots show the British actor standing totally naked in front of his co-star Anna Camp, who was also nude. The genital area of the star, who plays as Harry Potter, is basically a blur. The reported pictures can be seen on Queerty.com.
Broadway officials were outrageous with the leak of Daniel's nude photographs. The play's writer Sir Peter Schaffer is so furious, telling the New York Daily News "It's very, very bad behavior. Whoever did it is a creep." Meanwhile, publicist Sam Rudy called the culprit, who leaked the pictures, as a law breaker. Agreeing with Sam, stage technician Rachel Juozapaitis said, "They're turning art into pornography. It's just wrong, he still has to do some more Harry Potter films for the kids."
Prior to his Broadway debut, Daniel also bared all on London's West End as Alan Strang in the same play. Nevertheless, after five-month run in the city last year, the play didn't result in any pictures leaked to the press nor on the Internet.
In related news, Daniel reportedly will strip off on screen for the next Harry Potter's film. At first he felt unsure when he was told to be appearing without trousers in a scene in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." But, appearing nude in play "Equus" helped him to not feel afraid of doing it. He admitted, "at first I thought I'd have pants (underwear) on for the scene. Apparently not. But I've sort of done that before on stage. It's all old hat now, really."
