The money will be donated to L.A.'s the Promises Foundation, which "provides behavioral health services to low-income women and their children." Director of the organization Lisa Rogg told People, "the Spears family gave us this painting out of their generosity. It was their idea for the auction."
The portrait is auctioned off with a starting bid of $10,000. It is unframed and an original oil painting, which is worked by artist Daniel Maltman. It is four-foot wide by five-foot tall and has Britney's original signature on it.
The eBay page, on which the painting is put, shows several photographs of Britney standing next to it. The picture, however, won't be the only thing buyers-to-be can get. The purchase also includes Mixed Media Painting of Britney by Maltzman, Letter of Authenticity and Artist's Statement from Maltzman, signed ownership letter from Britney's father Jaime Spears, and "letter acknowledging donation for tax purposes."
In the letter of authenticity, Jamie wrote, "I hereby verify that the portrait of my daughter, Britney, has been in our home since it was completed by the Daniel Maltman Studio." Besides, he also guaranteed "it is Britney's original signature on the painting."
