After announcing pregnancy news last month, Charlie Sheen was facing frightening moment as his pregnant wife Brooke Mueller was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for emergency surgery last week. But it appears that his wife is fine as the twosome were seen attending the 60th annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 21.
Brooke, who is in her first trimester, was dealing with a pang for a month. Sources close to the couple told E! News she was fearful that the pain she had was related to her baby. So, a week ago, Sheen and Brooke went to Cedars-Sinai for a check up. Doctors ultimately determined she had to undergo emergency gall bladder surgery, an operation which can be risky during the early stages of pregnancy.
According to medical expert Dr. Cherlin Johnson, an infected gall bladder of a pregnant woman "can be life threatening to the mother and therefore for the fetus as well." However, publicist for Sheen and Brooke, Stan Rosenfield, confirmed that she was successfully treated at the hospital and allowed to leave late last week. The publicist also revealed that her pain had nothing to do with her pregnancy.
Brooke spent five days at the hospital and has been recovering at home for the past four days. She looked well enough to attend the Emmy Awards ceremony, where she joined her husband Sheen. The actor was nominated for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his TV series "Two and a Half Men" but the award went to actor Alec Baldwin for his role in TV series "30 Rock."
