Being idolized by many as a teen sensation, Demi Lovato has openly revealed her dark past of being bullied as a seventh grader. Making an appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" Wednesday, October 1 to promote her debut LP "Don't Forget", she opened up about the painful bullying that caused her to leave school a few years ago in favor of home-schooling.
"I never really understood why it was at the moment until looking back," the Disney starlet told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres when recalling her unpleasant experience. "I had a different lifestyle then everyone else. Whether it was because of my hair color or what ever the reason was, I pinned it on myself."
Now that she's already a working actress, Demi has vowed to use her fame to help other girls who have the same experience. "I guess the way that I want to impact girls as a ... role model - It's not me not making mistakes because I'm going to make mistakes but one day I want to help with bullying," she stated, adding "because there are girls who can't just up and home school and focus on their career."
Also performing her hit single "Get Back", Demi's appearance on the "Ellen DeGeneres Show" can be watched in the video below.
