After marrying his long-term girlfriend Beyonce Knowles earlier this year, Jay-Z admitted that he wants to start a family. The rapper seemed ready to be a father as he wishes to have family someday.
"Most people dream of having a family someday. So I'm just a regular American boy," Jay-Z stated. However, he admitted he has no plans to adopt children from Africa, despite spending much time with kids in the country like many other superstars including Madonna, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. He told People magazine, "No, I don't want to bring any kids home."
On Wednesday, October 1, Jay-Z was honored at the UN Global Leadership Awards Gala in New York for what he has done to bring clean water to young people during a recent trip to Africa. He confessed the trip has affected him more to continue his humanitarian work. "I went to Africa, spent a couple weeks in Angola. A bunch of different places. That was the whole thing for me. I've given to charities in the past and you close your eyes and cross your fingers and hope that the money gets there," he said.
"With this I got to go to Africa, I got to see the water pumps, I got to touch it," Jay-Z went on saying. "I got to see the kids turn them on. Tonight, I don't know what I'm doing here, I'm rewarded already."
