After getting married for about two years, Avril Lavigne and her husband Deryck Whibley have been rumored to have troubles in their marriage life. The couple's marriage reportedly has been on the rocks since the female singer started her world tour earlier this year, leaving him thousands of miles apart.
A source told the National Enquirer that Avril and Deryck "have been growing apart for months." Although she has kept in touch with the Sum 41 frontman by phone and e-mail, it appears that the communication was not enough.
The source told the tabloid that Deryck is not "motivated in his own career, so he's been drinking and partying." Not having been photographed together with Avril for months, Deryck added fuel to the rumors after he reportedly has been spotted huddling "at a private table" at a nightclub in Los Angeles recently and holding hands with a mystery woman.
Avril and Deryck have been married since July 2006. She at first considered having a goth wedding but eventually chose a traditional nuptials. She admitted at that time, "I wanted to say, 'Let's totally have a rock 'n' roll, goth wedding.' But at the same time I thought, 'I've been dreaming about my wedding day since I was a little girl. I have to wear the white dress. I wanted to be a princess.'"
