Eva Mendes doesn't like being compared to fellow Latin actress Jennifer Lopez, insisting her acting career is more serious than J.Lo.

Eva Mendes and
Jennifer Lopez may be of Latin origin. But the "
Ghost Rider" starlet has revealed that she hates being compared to the 39-year-old beauty, who is also known as a singer and fashion designer.
Eva claimed that her career on the silver screen is more serious than Jennifer. The 34-year-old actress has made a name for herself in Hollywood with roles in box office blockbusters like "
2 Fast 2 Furious" and "
Hitch", while the wife of
Marc Anthony has starred in several movies, including "
Monster-In-Law" and "
Maid in Manhattan". But Eva insisted that she has been more dedicated to acting than J.Lo.
"I would like to think I will have a more serious career than J-Lo. We may both be of Latin origin but that's where the comparisons stop," Eva said. "She manages her career like the head of a big corporation, whereas the only thing I care about is becoming the best actress possible."
Eva next stars in Frank Miller's "
The Spirit". It's a film adaptation based on the newspaper strip of the same name. The flick will be released this Christmas and also stars Gabriel Macht,
Scarlett Johansson,
Samuel L. Jackson.
