Vegetarian Leona Lewis Turns Down 1.85M Dollars Offer to Open Harrods SaleChart-topping recording artist has reportedly turned down a $1.85 million offer to open this year's summer sale at London department store Harrods. The British singer rejected the offer because the department store sells fur.

Leona became a vegetarian since she was 12 years old. The former winner of "The X Factor" was said to have refused to accept the deal from Harrods boss Mohammed Fayed because she doesn't want to be associated with anything that deals with the use of fur.

"I'm totally against animal cruelty," said the 23-year-old singer who was voted as PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity this year. "I don't have clothes, shoes or bags made from any animal products," she added.

According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, Harrods declined to comment on the reports. Harrods is reportedly the only department store in the U.K. that continues to sell fur. The store is also regularly targeted by animal cruelty campaigners.
