Katie Holmes apparently has her heart set on living in New York City. Despite the objections of her husband Tom Cruise, the 29-year-old actress is said to be keen on moving to the Big Apple. And her love of NYC is allegedly creating a rift between them.
An insider close to the couple revealed to In Touch, "Katie loves New York and considers it 'her city.'" Katie's involvement in Broadway's "All My Sons" seemed to have changed her. "Broadway has turned Katie into an independent woman. LA is more Tom's turf, but Katie feels more in control in New York," said the insider.
"Despite Tom's firm belief that they should be in LA as that's where the movie industry is, Katie's enjoyed being with the grittier, more down-to-earth young actors she's met in New York," the insider continued. The mother-of-one hopes a permanent move to the Big Apple will prompt a surge in her acting career.
"She wants to continue the momentum and star in another play after this one," the insider told In Touch. "It's even transforming the way she dresses - she's beginning to unveil more fashionable outfits whenever she's out on her own. Compared to New York, she finds LA fake and unpleasant," another source added.
