Madonna and Guy Ritchie's Divorce Officially Confirmed

Madonna's representative officially confirmed that she and husband Guy Ritchie are divorcing "after 7.5 years of marriage."

Following earlier report that said Madonna and Guy Ritchie definitely want to divorce soon, representative for Madonna, Liz Rosenberg, confirmed that they are divorcing after having a-half-and-seven-year marriage. "Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after 7.5 years of marriage," the rep revealed in statement.

Liz said that in the mean time Madonna and Guy ask media to respect their privacy. "They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time. A final settlement has not been agreed upon yet," Liz went on saying.

Report said Madonna's reason to divorce Guy is because he is a selfish husband. A source close to Guy said, "They wanted to kid the world into believing they were trying to work things out. But the truth is a whole lot different. When Guy heard the reasons Madonna was divorcing him he hit the roof. He thinks she's trying to make him out to be the villain of the piece. He's incandescent with rage."

Meanwhile, it has been reported that if the divorce is finalized, Guy will earn 50 million pounds of Madonna's estimated 300-million-pound fortune since they have no pre-nuptial agreement. But he reportedly told his lawyers that he doesn't want any penny of her fortune. Liz stated that the couple expected to agree the divorce statement without going through any courts.

Madonna has been married to Guy since December 2000. She has a daughter from her previous relationship with personal trainer Carlos Leon, named Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, 12, and two sons with Guy, Rocco John Richie, 8, and David Banda, 3, whom they adopted two years ago in Malawi.
