R'n'B singing sensation Beyonce Knowles graces InStyle magazine cover for its November issue. The 27-year-old hottie revealed to the magazine that she used to dress like a tomboy when she was growing up.
Beyonce admitted that her mother hated her fashion sense when she's younger. "Growing up, I was a tomboy," the "Crazy in Love" songstress told InStyle. "I refused to carry a purse and wouldn't wear a dress. That was the eighties and it was all about the hip-hop influence - baggy jeans and big shirts. (My mother) hated it!"
The wife of Jay-Z further revealed her current fashion icons, saying "Charlize Theron is always beautiful and feminine. I love her couture looks and dramatic silhouette. Halle Berry is elegant and sophisticated." She continued, "I love that in the seventies Cher and Diana Ross looked like superstars and never played it safe. When they were onstage, they gave you drama - and I love drama."
The singer also told the magazine that she enjoyed gaining weight for her latest movie role.
"I gained almost 15 pounds to play the role," said the former Destiny's Child star, who plays Etta James in the upcoming flick "Cadillac Records". "It was way easier - and tastier - than having to lose so much weight for "Dreamgirls"."
