Actor Daniel Craig states that Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama would "be the better Bond" than Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Daniel Craig, who plays great secret agent James Bond in "
Casino Royale," revealed he thinks Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is the U.S. 007 agent in real life. Explaining the reason, the actor stated the politician is just like Bond who would be "willing to quite literally look the enemy in the eye and go toe-to-toe with them."
"Obama would be the better Bond," Daniel told Parade magazine when being asked "who do you think would be the better James Bond - Barack Obama or John McCain?" Unlike Obama, Republican presidential candidate McCain, according to the actor, tends to be like M, Bond's boss. Of the politician, Daniel said, "McCain, because of his long service and experience, would probably be a better M. There is, come to think of it, a kind of
Judi Dench quality to McCain."
Acting quite open when comparing Obama and McCain with the characters in the James Bond movie, Daniel however didn't want to reveal his opinion when being asked about the better Bond's girl; Michelle Obama or Cindy McCain. "Oh, now you've crossed the line. That's much too dangerous a question. Can't we go back to talking about
Lauren Bacall?" the British star joked.
Furthermore, Daniel confessed that playing the role of James Bond has changed his life. "When this opportunity came along, I knew it would turn everything upside-down. I'm 40 now. It really helped me put things in perspective. It wasn't about the money. It was about changing things up and seeing what would happen," he went on telling .
