The wife of
Jay-Z recently told InStyle magazine that she enjoyed gaining weight for her latest movie role. "I gained almost 15 pounds to play the role, It was way easier - and tastier - than having to lose so much weight for "
Dreamgirls"," she revealed to the magazine.
About her latest flick, Beyonce said that the legendary role had also redefined her music. "Lyrically, it's deeper than what I've done before, I wasn't mature enough or old enough, or in touch with myself enough, to do this type of album before," the 27-year-old hottie explained. "I didn't have the guts."
Written and directed by Darnell Martin, "Cadillac Records" is a biographical film and a musical drama, starring
Adrien Brody, Cedric the Entertainer,
Mos Def and Beyonce. Exploring the 1950s musical era, the film chronicles the life of the influential Chicago-based record-company executive Leonard Chess, and the singers who recorded for Chess Records.
