David Beckham's 'Move' to Milan Comes True
The speculation about joining AC Milan is indeed truthful. In a joint statement on Thursday, October 30, both AC Milan and The Los Angeles Galaxy have announced that the soccer ace will join AC Milan on 3-month loan. "An agreement has been reached between the Los Angeles Galaxy and AC Milan for the loan of David Beckham effective in January, 2009," parts of the statement released through Milan's official site read.

Though playing for 3 month in AC Milan, Beckham still remains under contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy. That is why, before the 2009 MLS season is kicked off, he will return to the club for the preparation of the new season in March. While the terms of the agreement are disclosed, it is said that Los Angeles Galaxy will gather benefit from the loan. Nevertheless, The Associated Press mentioned that the contract has yet to be written.

The former Real Madrid member will be introduced officially to AC Milan public on December 21 as the club is expected to expose his jersey number. It is further said that Becks will head to Dubai with Milan for a midwinter training camp that includes exhibition game. The England midfielder is reported to join the European team on January 7, 2009, while his first performance with AC Milan can be in the match against AS Roma on January 11.

About his move, Beckham has been reported to give his own comment through his blog. "One of the reasons I want to train and play for Milan for a few months is the fact that the MLS season doesn't run as long as the European season, and having played most of my career in Europe, my body has been trained and geared not to have that amount of time off," he wrote as quoted The Celebrity Truth.
