Zac Efron, who was previously rumored to be starring in Broadway play "Equus", insisted he doesn't have the courage needed to strip off in front of a live audience.
Hollywood heartthrob
Zac Efron said he won't starring in Broadway play "Equus" because he isn't "ballsy" enough. The 21-year-old hunk, who was rumored to be taking over from
Daniel Radcliffe, insisted he doesn't have the courage needed to strip off in front of a live audience.
"Daniel was very ballsy. Oh wow, that is the wrong choice of word for that! He is very smart," Zac said of the "Harry Potter" star. "I guess that was the fastest way to do it," the young actor, who is dating "High School Musical" co-star
Vanessa Hudgens, told French website TeeMix.
"But I don't know if I would do something edgy for the sake of doing something edgy, I think as I mature, so will my roles," added the "
Hairspray" star. "I think it will come with time. I'm not going to do anything drastic."
In related news, Zac Efron recently revealed he wouldn't rule out starring in a sequel to "Hairspray" because he's a huge fan of musicals. "I love musicals! I've noticed that various movie studios want to get involved with making musicals and I think it's great. They're making a comeback and so I think there should be more in the pipeline. Any time there's a musical, I'm up for being on board. It's fun," said the actor.
